Rockbridge Sports, Media and Entertainment LLC (dba Rockbridge Sports Group) was founded in July of 2011 by former CBS Collegiate Sports Properties’ executives David Johnston and Rich Klein, who along with VP of Digital Sponsorships Kevin Burke, have a combined 40 plus years of experience in the sports, media, and entertainment industry, including 30 years in the collegiate multi-media rights space – at both the university and senior management level for CBS Collegiate Sports Properties.
During an eight year run that started in 2003, the Rockbridge team played a substantial role in CBS’s overall growth – driving revenue at margins well above the industry average. Revenue generating assets and programs under management included digital and broadcast video rights, radio, print, marketing rights, on premise signage, game sponsorships, event marketing, premium tickets and hospitality, retail activation programs, licensing, merchandising, endorsements, and b2b opportunities.
Rockbridge principals’ former clients while at CBS include Virginia, Maryland, LSU, Stanford, Utah, Arizona State, Northwestern, Air Force, Old Dominion, Towson, Aloha Stadium, the Mountain West Sports Network, and Comcast Sports Southeast; at which fully integrated sponsorship and media programs were executed on behalf of leading brands and their agencies at a local, regional and national level.
